[Furiosa spends most mornings in the gym. Honestly, she'd prefer the Enclosure, but she needs to be moving long and often enough that she can't justify using more than her share of the precious time in the false environment. She works out quickly how to run on the treadmill, but most of the other machines remain a mystery to her. If the right person is using them, they may see her watching, or so may decide to approach.

Some mornings her prosthesis is on, and others it is off, tucked protectively and nearly underfoot, out of habit, though this doesn't seem like the kind of place where anyone is likely to get any ideas.

When she is done, she usually ends by slipping upstairs, showering quickly, and permitting herself what feels like the decadent luxury of putting her feet into the pool. It takes her until about the fifth time to get up the nerve to walk in to the water, to lower herself down in it until she feels it lap up around her neck, then to hold her breath and gingerly, cover her mouth and nose, and cautiously, gingerly slip under the surface and just let herself float, suspended.

She can be found in any of those places.

Still, a workout isn't the same thing as practice, really, and the conversation that has been going on here has weighed heavily on her, though she hasn't participated. So, finally, she takes a break one morning in the gym and turns on the feed.]

[She has to clear her throat to start, and wipe the sweat off her face. She's sitting in the frame, bare feet apart, elbows rested on her knees, metal arm down at her side. Furiosa isn't comfortable, exactly, talking to a little plastic box that will take her words all over the ship, but this is important to her.]

My name is Imperator Furiosa. I'm human. No powers. I'm in the gym.

[Short, unceremonious, she disconnects.]

[Tiffany rarely goes in the gym, but she's a pretty big fan of the pool. She drops her towel and bag onto a lounge chair, turns towards the water... and realizes that she isn't alone today.]

... Hey. Hey, Furiosa.

[She surfaces, and wipes the water from her face, looks over, blinking, and nods. Even smiles, actually. She begins to wade back towards the edge of the pool.

There is basically no thing as a bathing suit in Furiosa's world, so this is one of the places where the Barge had to editorialize and modernize pretty heavily in her wardrobe. It had taken her some time to figure out what the garment was even for, but she made it into the modest, olive onepiece eventually. It's a feminine cut, but does nothing to hide the fact, once she's out of the water, that her back, her shoulders, her thighs, are pure muscle overlaid with a lot of scar.]

[Tiffany's in a bikini, and the only thing new that that reveals is her multitude of tattoos. Her eyes widen just a little at Furiosa's scars, but she doesn't comment - she just slides into the water, more carefully than she would have normally. Something about Furiosa makes her feel like she shouldn't make any big splashes or sudden movements.]

[That strikes her as a weird thing to have to get used to.]

You didn't have to sleep at home?

Oh, we slept. But mostly sitting in the front seat of a truck.

[She shrugs.]

Or with one eye open, piled into a barracks.

[She thinks of Anya and Letty, and wonders if that isn't such a terrible idea here.]

Yeah.

Our... our cabins are safe.

It ain't always very safe here, and I'm sorry about that.

[But she did hear about Anya, and her expression softens.]

Did you know her? The woman who got hurt.

I like Anya a lot.

I watched her response.

She'll be all right. She's strong.

[A stranger can see that much.]

[Furiosa says, mouth curving in approval.]

You kinda came in at a weird time, I think. It's always a weird time, but there's been a lot of stuff going on lately. ... For me, anyway. I guess there's people staying out of it.

Oh. I don't know, I don't work in maintenance. But I guess... they're probably figuring it out.

I bet if you wanna work with them, though, they'd say yes.
